Alpenglow Sports Winter Film Series #4

Alpenglow Sports is proud to announce the fourth installment of 2013/14 Winter Film Series with world-famous high altitude ski mountaineer and Marmot athlete Adrian Ballinger. Ballinger’s show will occur during the Alpenglow Mountain Festival, a two-week celebration of human-powered winter sports from February 14 through March 1.

An annual presenter in the Winter Film Series, Ballinger is well-known for his high altitude exploits on Himalayan giants like Mt. Everest, and the fact that he is one of very few Americans possessing a full international guiding certificate.

Between his professional guiding stints he is well-known for his amazing ski exploits across the globe. On Thursday, January 22nd Ballinger will share his story, “The Global Search for Powder Turns.” The show will be held at Squaw Valley’s Olympic Village Lodge.

2013 was one of Tahoe’s driest years ever. While great days and adventures still abounded in the Sierra, local Tahoe guide and skier Adrian Ballinger chose the path of so many before him – to leave home in search of snow.

The journey took him from the world’s most militarized border between India and Pakistan, to the flanks of the world’s fourth tallest peak, Lhotse, in Nepal, to the high peaks of Peru’s Cordillera Blanca. He also traveled into the Himalayan kingdom of Tibet, to attempt to climb and ski the Turquoise Goddess, Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth tallest peak.

Join Adrian on his 2013 adventure around the world in search of turns.

The show is FREE and is designed to motivate, inspire, and educate. Amazing raffle prizes from generous sponsors will be on hand, with 100% of proceeds to benefit the High Fives Foundation.

Please come early for drink specials and good seating. The show begins at 7pm. Please call Alpenglow Sports at 530.583.6917 with questions.
