On December 15, 2023, Randy embarked on a solo mountain biking adventure, attempting a new line that proved more challenging than anticipated. Randy fell, landing on his head with the bike still attached. The impact resulted in multiple fractures of the C4 vertebra, causing instant paralysis from the neck down. Since the accident, he has regained some movement in his legs and limited mobility in his arms, though using his hands remains particularly challenging.
