Lucas Sigglin
On January 9, 2024, Lucas was building a jump off the corner of the hill in his backyard, hoping to attempt a backflip on his snowboard. On his first attempt dropping in, everything felt just right. However, as he went off the jump, he began to rotate, the hood of his jacket flipped up blocking his view just enough to cause a slight hesitation. Lucas came down landing on his neck, he heard a loud pop, and the next thing he knew, he couldn’t move. Lucas broke his C5 vertebrae leaving him an incomplete quadriplegic. He lied face down in the snow for about an hour and a half until his mother finally found him.
