On March 8, 2026, the Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon marked a powerful milestone, 15 years of community, fundraising, and life-changing impact.
This year’s event brought together skiers, riders, supporters, and 18 High Fives Athletes, all rallying behind one shared purpose: supporting athletes recovering from life-changing injuries.
Despite a cloudy start and a bit of wind in the morning, the energy on the mountain never wavered. If anything, it grew stronger with every lap, every high five, and every dollar raised.
By the end of the day, the community had come together to raise an incredible:
$612,586+ in support of High Fives Athletes
A true reflection of what happens when passion meets purpose.
What began under overcast skies turned into a picture-perfect Vermont afternoon, with sunshine breaking through just in time for awards. It was a reminder of what this event has always represented, perseverance, community, and showing up for one another.
This year also carried a unique weight. With Roy unable to be there in person, the community showed up in full force, carrying the spirit of High Fives forward in every moment.
As Events Manager Erika Etling shared:
“The wind didn’t push us around—we pushed past our goal. What started as a cloudy day turned into the sunshine we needed for awards, ending in a truly beautiful way. I’m so proud to showcase our entire team. Filling Roy’s shoes wasn’t easy, but a huge shoutout to everyone who showed up, made the day special, and rallied for Roy.”
For 15 years, the Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon has been more than just a day on the hill. It’s a gathering of people who believe in something bigger, restoring confidence, building community, and proving that life after injury can still be full of adventure.
From first-time participants to long-time supporters, every person on that mountain played a role in continuing this legacy.
As we celebrate 15 years of the Green Mountain Shred-A-Thon, we’re reminded that this is just the beginning. The momentum, the stories, and the impact continue far beyond a single day.
