Skye Walker’s Healing Bear Returns
When expansion plans began for the gym at the CR Johnson Healing Center, we knew part of Skye Walker’s iconic “Healing Bear” mural would need to come down. But this wasn’t goodbye—it was a call for revival.
A few months ago, Skye got a text from Roy with the update and a simple ask- Would he be down to return and bring the mural back to life? Skye didn’t hesitate. “Of course I said yes—I’m always down for a good challenge.”
Once the wall was prepped and ready, Skye jumped right in. With a tight turnaround, he freehanded most of the new mural on the fly, using his LUMI projector to reintroduce the High Fives logo and layer in fresh new elements, like a bold “Hands up, not hand outs” message over the meeting room door and even a great white shark swimming through the cold plunge room.
Wearing his Melin hat and channeling full creative hustle, Skye added a burst of color and character to every corner. The final product? A vibrant, re-energized space that reflects the healing, strength, and inspiration the athletes feel every time they walk through our doors.
