Andrew Kurka
In 2005, at the age of 13, Andrew suffered at spinal cord injury at the T-10 level as a result of an ATV accident. At the age of 15, with the help of Challenge Alaska and his physical therapist, Andrew was able to get back into the mountains and ski again in an adaptive fashion. Andrew was a competitor before his injury with hopes of making the Olympics as a wrestler. Now, with the help of the High Fives Foundation and the US Paralympic Team, Andrew is able to continue chasing his Olympic dreams…it’s just on snow this time around.
