Annabelle Carlson
During a family vacation and dive trip to Belize, Annabelle was attacked by a shark after re-entering the water following a dive, resulting in the loss of her right leg above the knee. The attack also required over 100 stitches to their hands from defending herself, leaving her with partial use of the right hand and nerve damage to two fingers. Despite battling a serious mycobacterial infection, Annabelle has undergone more than 11 surgeries and is now recovering well, able to walk with a prosthetic.
