Blake was commuting to work on his motorcycle when he noticed a vehicle approaching closely behind him. He responded by moving lanes to allow the vehicle to pass, when suddenly everything went dark. Blake woke up next to his wife in the ICU to learn from his doctors he collided with the SUV in front of him, sending him through the rear windscreen resulting in a severe spinal cord injury.
