On May 23, 2015, Cameron Zick’s hiking trip ended when he slipped off a rock, fell headfirst into the snow, and broke his neck. His accident is classified as an incomplete quadriplegic spinal cord injury – burst C6 fracture, C5 & C7 vertebrae compressed.
Since day one, while lying paralyzed in an ICU bed, Cameron reiterated his recovery goal – “I plan to conquer my ultimate goal with my family and friends in 2017: to climb Mt. Sneffels and stand on that rock again.”
