It was the day before his college graduation when Claudio was riding in the bed of a friend’s truck. At one point they took a turn at high speed, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole. He slammed onto the cabin and severed his spinal cord, leaving him completely paralyzed. Following months of intensive rehab he was able to regain mobility above chest level.
