In April of 2017, Liz crashed while racing in the US Mountain Bike Cup in Bonelli, CA. Her handlebars caught the edge of the course barrier and crashed at 30 miles an hour straight into the ground. Her pelvis took the impact the hardest and has had to undergo multiple reconstruction surgeries with a handful of other injuries.
