Mikayla Nielsen
Mikayla was injured while riding ATVs with friends in the Pryor Mounatins. She went off the washed-out edge of a mountain after missing a sharp 45-degree turn, falling roughly 10-12 feet and landing about 50 feet away. The fall left her unconscious and not breathing, but she was stabilized by a fellow rider until a life flight helicopter arrived, and she survived a life-threatening injury.
“The mountains are still calling, you're jsut taking a different path up.”
High Fives has provided:
GC1 2026 funding for vehicle hand controls and modifications
“This grant will restore independence and freedom lost since my injury. Funding an adapted pickup will allow me to manage my schedule, attend therapy consistently, and return to the outdoors for activities like hunting and fishing, supporting both my physical recovery and mental well-being.“
