Nicolette Olson
Nicolette fell an estimated 70 to 90 feet into a ravine, sustaining severe injuries that included fractures to both ankles and legs, her wrist, and her back. After spending a month in the hospital follwed by extensive rehabilitation, both of her ankles were surgically reconstructed. However, complications from bone death and persistent, extreme pain ultimately led to a below-knee amputation on her eft side. Following the amputation, Nicolette faced significant challenges trying to walk again, including muscle spasms, frequent falls, and overwhelming pain. Over time, she has learned to accept life in a wheelchair–not as a limitation, but as a new reality that, while difficult, has brought strength, perspective, and resilience.
