Seth Penny
While on a boat with friends over ten years ago, Seth jumped into what he thought was deep water. Unfortunately, what he thought was deep water was actually quite shallow. This accident resulted in a C6/7 spinal cord injury and quadriplegia.

“The High Fives Grant will allow me to chase down a groundbreaking study for people living with paralysis resulting from SCI which I have been matched to participate in. The potential for recovery of abilities lost after my SCI in this study are truly remarkable. It’s the first time in the nearly 12 years that I’ve been in the chair that I have been truly excited about the chance of something changing my daily life limitations. This grant gets me one step closer to kicking some dependence to the curb and for that, I am very grateful.“
