On January 1, 2026, Ken Krilla took his 20th Polar Plunge, diving into Boston Harbor on New Year’s Day to support High Fives Foundation. Conditions were no joke—26°F air temperatures, 20+ MPH winds, and 37°F water. Yikes.
What began twenty years ago as a single cold-water jump has become a meaningful New Year’s tradition rooted in giving back. For this milestone plunge, Ken rallied friends, family, and supporters, all united around creating access, opportunity, and healing through sport.
Thanks to this community, Freezin’ For A Reason 2026 raised nearly $6,000, directly supporting athletes and veterans with life-changing injuries as they work toward independence, confidence, and connection through adaptive sports.
We’re deeply grateful to Ken and everyone who showed up—proof that one cold morning, backed by community, can make a lasting impact.
