The 11th Annual Vermont Charity Golf Tournament, now known as the “Green Mountain Open,” has come and gone, leaving a trail of success and philanthropy in its wake. Thank you to our hosts Sugarbush Golf Club and the whole community! This year, the High Fives Ohana truly outdid themselves, creating an event that will be remembered for years to come. With over $75,000 raised, eight incredible athletes in attendance, and 37 teams participating, the 2023 Green Mountain Open was nothing short of extraordinary.
An Unforgettable Day
The High Fives Foundation’s annual charity golf tournament is more than just a game; it’s a celebration of community, support, and the unyielding spirit of the Mad River Valley. The event took on even greater significance as it paid homage to Roy, a cherished hometown hero. The attendees, sporting vibrant neon outfits, and hot pink Bonnie Ball purchases in support of #HighFivesAthletes, created a dynamic atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and camaraderie.
Community Support in Action
One of the standout qualities of the Green Mountain Open was the genuine and enthusiastic support from everyone involved. The traditional heckling, all in good fun, brought laughter and a sense of togetherness, showing that this event is not just about golf, but about creating unforgettable moments and fostering lasting connections.
Turning Obstacles into Opportunities
The High Fives Foundation has a unique perspective on life’s challenges: they see every obstacle as an opportunity to adapt and overcome. This mindset permeated the tournament, with participants, athletes, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and staff all coming together to make the event a resounding success. They are the beating heart of the Foundation, keeping its mission alive and healthy.
A Heartfelt Thank You
High Fives Foundation, on behalf of the athletes and veterans they support, extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in and supported the Green Mountain Open at Sugarbush Resort Golf Club. It is your dedication and generosity that allow them to continue making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
In the spirit of this incredible event, we look forward to next year’s tournament with anticipation. The Green Mountain Open is not just about golf; it’s a powerful force for good in the Mad River Valley community, and we can’t wait to see what heights it will reach in the years to come. Until then, tee you again next year!
