Located at 10775 Pioneer Trail, #108 in Truckee, CA, the CR Johnson Healing Center, a Program Service of the High Fives Foundation, is a 10,000 sq/ft training facility providing resources for athletes in recovery from life-changing injuries and community members recovering from sport related injuries. It is also the High Fives Headquarters.

History
On August 10th, 2011, the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation opened the CR Johnson Healing Center as a program service to commemorate the professional skier and beloved Truckee resident, CR Johnson. The Healing Center provides a space in which High Fives Athletes and community members can continue to work toward their goals in a private, “no questions asked” facility.

Nikki came to Reno in 2016 to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at the University of Nevada. Nikki has worked with a wide range of athletes within the health and fitness setting, having spent time coaching at the Division 1 Collegiate setting and private sector strength and conditioning over the course of the last five years. Nikki is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Kyle Briggs

After years of running a personal training business in Malibu and playing basketball in Europe, Kyle wanted to take his interests in fitness and health into a deeper level of care. Having spent so much time working with the functionality of the body, Eastern Medicine, and it's focus on the root of the cause of illness, was a natural fit. Today, Kyle is still trying to integrate the best known modalities of care with an approach rooted in getting to the bottom of medical issues.

Greg has over 30 years of clinical experience in treating orthopedic, neurologic, and sport injuries. He has advanced his clinical skills with over 2,000 hours of manual therapy classes. Greg has been certified as a Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) through the Institute of Physical Art and as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. Greg utilizes his manual Physical Therapy skills to integrate a treatment system that couples mechanical treatment of joints, muscles, visceral and neuromuscular systems with manual techniques to enhance optimal human function. Greg also specializes in developing a Prescriptive Home Exercise program to help patients improve their functional levels and decrease their pain.

Karin Sable

Marriage and Family Therapy
Karin Sable earned an MA in counseling psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California in 2009. As part of her early work, she interned at a community clinic working with a diverse population and a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, from severe mental illness to people wanting to increase self-awareness and life satisfaction. She gained experience with all ages, couples, families, and cross-cultural counseling and worked in a variety of settings including schools, non-profit organizations, corporations and with medical professionals. While still providing general therapy services, Karin has specialized in the treatment of trauma. She works with individuals and couples and has worked with first responder groups including ski patrols and search and rescue groups. Karin has a love of neuroscience and brings that into her work, helping clients understand why certain psychological symptoms are occurring. Karin balances her work by volunteering with several search and rescue teams as a canine handler.

Kerry Nolan

vKerry's professional focus has mainly been in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, and she has undergone training to gain certifications in both weightlifting and powerlifting. Her career has exposed her to all levels of athlete, from weekend warrior to professional level – but, no matter the client, her focus continues to be creating an alliance centered around each individual's personal goals and developing self-efficacy through exercise, strength, and education. Kerry enjoys blurring the line between rehab and performance training, and is passionate about eliminating stereotypes and empowering others to utilize strength training to benefit general health, confidence, athletic ability, mental toughness, and to create a life-long love for wellness along with the ability to continue participating in all the athletes each person enjoys!
Shawnee Wood

Shawnee grew up in Lake Tahoe. She is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys trail running, backcountry skiing, mountain biking and rock climbing. She has been drawn to the sports and orthopedic rehab setting since teaching yoga at home and abroad, playing collegiate Soccer and graduating with a BS in Neuroscience in 2012. After traveling and embracing these Tahoe Mountains, she obtained a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Regis University. While in Denver, she spent 6 months interning at Craig Hospital focusing on Spinal Cord Injury. She is passionate about treating all active individuals with a goal, from high-level endurance athletes to dog walkers. She believes in looking at the person as a whole and addressing orthopedic injuries by building strength, balance, neuromuscular control and mental fortitude to improve longevity and return to performance. Shawnee is committed to collaborating with each individual to uncover the depth of the current issue and find empowerment through better understanding of their body from prevention to peak performance.
