It’s been an incredible year at High Fives Foundation—a year of growth, expansion, and strengthened endeavors. As 2025 comes to an end, we’re excited to share the updates and peak moments of the year with you.
High Fives Foundation prevents accidents by educating athletes of all ages on mountain safety and awareness; provides financial support, adaptive sporting equipment, and healing resources to over 1,000 life-changing injury survivors; and enables these individuals to reintegrate into outdoor sports/recreation and rediscover their community at adaptive sports camps.
Some of this year’s highlights:
• We surpassed 1,000 individuals with life-changing injuries supported through our Empowerment Fund, a milestone achievement for the foundation
• We provided over $816,000+ in funding through the two Empowerment grant cycles, plus an additional $150,000+ in discretionary funding
• We hosted 92 adaptive sports camps across five pillars of sport (surfing, skiing/snowboarding, mountain biking, motor-fed sports, and fishing) for 541 participants (49% first-time experiences)
• We granted 118 pieces of adaptive sporting equipment (83 bikes, 29 full sets of ski/snowboard equipment, and six surfboards)
• At the C.R. Johnson Healing Center, we’ve had 5,775 client visits this year for acupuncture, personal training, physical therapy, mental health therapy, and more
• In the second year of our Adaptive Wakesurf program on Lake Tahoe in collaboration with MasterCraft Boat Company, we hosted 108 High Fives athletes for 152 hours of wakesurfing, made possible with a crew of 139 incredible volunteers
• Access Unlimited has officially joined High Fives Foundation as a program service of the organization, expanding adaptive outdoor access through the Fish pillar of sport and creating more opportunities for individuals with life-changing injuries and disabilities to heal through fishing experiences and outdoor adventures
