HIGH FIVE’S CASINO NIGHTJanuary 1, 2011, while skiing, Phillip Hoban suffered a devastating fracture of the fifth vertebrae in his neck leaving him an incomplete quadriplegic. Through sheer determination, grit and a commitment to improve, Phillip is well on the way to recovery and owes a huge part of his success to the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation. Join us for a 70’s themed, Casino Night to raise funds for the recovery of High Fives Winter Empowerment Fund – Highlighted Athlete, Phil Hoban! HIGH FIVE THE VALLEYThe High Fives Non-Profit Foundation (Truckee, Calif.) is excited to host a discussion (May 11, 2011 at the Big Picture Theater) regarding the various program services as well as educate those in attendance about the mission, history and future in Co-Founder and President, Roy Tuscanys hometown area of Waitsfield, VT. Featuring cheese from Cabot Cheese, drink specials, socializing, and information regarding the High Fives Non-Profit Foundation, the discussion will be both informative and energetic. The presentation will consist of mixed media between videos and open discussion. |
TRAINS 2011Can you hear it? The ground is rumbling, shaking off the tens of feet of snow that the Lake Tahoe region has received in the past weeks. Thats right, trains 2011 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Contest is on its way all aboard! The High Fives Non-Profit Foundation, Marker Bindings, Volkl Skis, Smith Optics and Alpine Meadows Ski Resort are proud to host the invitational slopestyle contest on Saturday, April 16 from 11am-4pm. This is a truly rider-driven event, featuring top local and pro athletes mixing it up in The Shreadows Terrain Park arena. The unique team-oriented format rewards creativity and style in a progressive environment. With music from DJ One Truest and catering from Full Belly Deli including chicken wings from the wing king himself Jamie LaValle (Marker/Volkl), trains 2011 is a locomotive of energy, positivity and fun for all! |
Squaw Valley PromOrginally a CHARITYSMITH event, the Squaw Valley Prom is entering its seventh year. The event has been run by High Fives Non-Profit Foundation and Biking for a Better World since 2010 and has seen tremendous growth and exposure since its inception each year. 2010Bocce TournamentThis year the Bocce Tournament grew from 24 to 36 teams and from 6 courts to 8 courts, once again showing the continued growth of High Fives. This year brought on new competitors and sponsors to help make the second Annual Bocce Tournament a super successful fun day. Cabot Cheese, Full Belly Deli, Jamie LaValles Wing Sauce Fifty-Fifty Brewing Co., Pastime Club, Red Bull and Uncorked Wine Bar kept everyone attending the full-day event with cheese, delicious finger foods, chicken wings, beer, energy drink and wine. Tournament director Jeff Pratt welcomed all to the tournament and Grant Korgan picked a random participant to give away a season pass to Sugarbowl. After many hours of balls being thrown on the Truckee Regional Park grass courts; the Dangerous Duo Team of Ryan Lindquist and Dugga (Crux Events) took home the tile and the Champions Blazers (think of the Green Blazers from the Masters).
