2015 Wine n Ice Sign Ups have Begun!
Truckee River Winery was established 25 years ago with the vision of sourcing quality grapes, bringing the fruit to Truckee in order to take advantage of the high elevation and cold temperatures to naturally cool the fermentation and slow down the barrel aging process. Thus becoming the highest and coldest winery.
Their focus from the beginning has been to produce handcrafted wines with great structure and finesse. Their award winning Pinot Noir is the winemaker’s pride and joy.
Truckee River Winery is hosting its 4th annual ice carving competition, as part of the Snowfest fun! Come to Truckee’s local winery and watch talented local professionals transform large blocks of ice into works of art for judging and awards.
Music by local DJ: Chango, fire pits on site by Mountain Home Center, food by Truckee River Winery and Mountain Valley Meats. Wine by Truckee River Winery and beer by Fifty Fifty Brewing.
On-Site Ice carvers will be given 4 hours to sculpt their blocks of ice on Wednesday March 4th, at Truckee River Winery. All carvers will be judged on artistry, creativity, level of difficulty and relevance. Carvers are encouraged to choose a design that emulates all three of these skills. A max of 2 individuals per team. There will also be 4 bocce courts open during the event!
$10 cover includes souvenir wine glass, Mardi Gras Beads, as well as a donation! All ages welcome!
