2024 Truckee Fly Fishing Camp was A Reel Success

Casting a Line in Accessible Waters

Nestled in the picturesque town of Truckee, California, the High Fives 2024 Truckee Fly Fishing Camp brought together six High Fives Athletes for three unforgettable days of adaptive fishing. This annual event celebrates connection, accessibility, and the joy of being outdoors, providing an inclusive environment where everyone can reel in not only fish but also lifelong memories.

The camp featured fishing at some of the most serene and adaptive-friendly locations in the area, including Everline Resort, Sawmill Lake, and the Truckee River. Over 150 fish were caught and released during the camp, a testament to the incredible skills of our anglers and the rich fishing opportunities these waters offer.

High Fives Athlete Ricci Kilgore highlighted the unique accessibility of the event…

“It can be hard to fish on the Truckee because there aren’t many accessible spots to bring a wheelchair. But at the High Fives fishing camp, it’s super accessible. You can actually catch fish every day, and sometimes on every other cast.”

Meet the High Fives Anglers | The event welcomed an incredible lineup of High Fives Athletes: Ricci Kilgore, James Nance, Jordan Anderson, Chris Baker, Casey Tynan, and Lawrence Green. Each participant brought their unique energy, passion, and determination, showcasing the power of adaptive sports in creating opportunities for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
