August 29, Block Island Sound, Rhode Island
The High Fives Foundation hosted its 4th Annual East Coast Fish Adaptive Camp, bringing together athletes, captains, and community members for a day on the water filled with adventure, camaraderie, and plenty of catches.
This year’s camp featured:
- 8 High Fives Athletes
- 5 Boats & Captains generously volunteering their time and vessels
- 150 Fish Caught across the day
- 8 Different Species of Fish reeled in by participants
From the early morning dockside prep to the final sunset return, athletes experienced the thrill of deep-sea fishing in the open waters of Block Island Sound. The excitement on deck was matched only by the stories shared, the encouragement passed between athletes and crew, and the sheer joy of being out on the ocean together.
This camp continues to highlight the power of adaptive adventure, showing that with the right support, the ocean has no limits. Whether it was reeling in a first catch or celebrating a record haul, the day underscored what High Fives is all about… community, empowerment, and pushing past barriers.
As one of our signature East Coast programs, the Deep Sea Fishing Camp is made possible through the generosity of our captains, volunteers, and donors who believe in providing opportunities for athletes to return to the activities they love — or to try something new.

High Five to everyone who made this camp possible. Here’s to another successful year and many more fish tales to come!
