JACOB SCHICK’S ALIVE DAY

Jacob Schick and Bradley Cooper spoke with Ellen and First Lady Michelle Obama about the importance of working with military veterans, and how you can help.

Jacob Schick’s life-altering injury came on September 20, 2004 when the vehicle Schick was driving hit a triple-stacked tank mine. He sustained multiple injuries including: compound fractures in his left leg and left arm; multiple skin, and ligament injuries; bone loss and partial loss of his left hand and arm. Additionally, Schick endured an amputation below the knee of his right leg.

To date he has endured 26 operations and 23 blood transfusions. He was also diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). These injuries have incurred a long road toward recovery, an undertaking embraced and facilitated by the Adaptive Training Foundation.
