This season, High Fives Foundation returned to Puerto Rico for a powerful week centered on access, connection, and the kind of healing that happens both in—and out of—the water.
The camp welcomed eight athletes, supported by six experienced watermen and two dedicated media team members, all coming together in one of the most meaningful locations on the High Fives calendar. While surfing is at the heart of the program, Puerto Rico consistently proves that the impact runs deeper than wave counts or conditions.

That sense of real time—unrushed days, shared meals, long conversations, and collective presence—is what makes this camp special. Athletes had the opportunity to build confidence in the water, lean on experienced mentors, and reconnect with themselves in a setting that naturally invites reflection and joy.
Even when the ocean was calm, the experience never stalled. The accessibility of the location, the warmth of the community, and the intentional design of the camp ensured that every day offered growth—whether that came through paddling out, learning from watermen, or simply sitting together and soaking it all in.

Puerto Rico continues to be a cornerstone of High Fives’ adaptive surf programming because it delivers something rare: a balance of world-class environment and deep human connection. For the athletes who attend, it’s not just a surf trip—it’s a reminder of what’s possible when access, place, and people align.
And for many, it’s a chapter they’ll carry for a lifetime. Full photo album HERE.
