Ethan McCoy
Ethan was injured while body surfing at Pacific Beach in San Diego when he was driven headfirst into a sandbar by a wave. The impact left him unable to move and underwater until friends pulled him to shore and began life-saving effort. The accident caused severe cervical spine injuries, requiring surgery and resulting in an incomplete spinal cord injury.
