Bri Girard Finds a New Kind of Freedom with Return to Dirt
On August 9, 2026, Bri Girard and her husband traveled from Pennsylvania to Colorado for an adventure that included hot springs, exploring the mountains, and a day behind the wheel with the High Fives Foundation’s Return to Dirt program.
At Four Mile, Bri climbed into the adaptive vehicle and hit the trails for 18 miles of off-road driving.
And she loved it.
Bri had so much fun driving that the experience sparked an idea for what could come next. Her family already owns a UTV, and after experiencing adaptive driving with Return to Dirt, she is now looking into adding hand controls to their UTV back home.
That is one of the most exciting parts of Return to Dirt. A day on the trail can be more than just an adventure. It can introduce athletes to new adaptive equipment, build confidence behind the wheel, and show what might be possible long after the day trip ends.
For Bri, 18 miles at Four Mile could be the beginning of many more miles to come.
High Five, Bri!
