A former pro mogul skier and skier for Rap Films, DJ’s true passion for has been ski-alpinism. He has pioneered and soloed many routes throughout the Sierra. In 2010, Darren found himself buried for seven minutes after taking a ride on an early season avalanche on Red Lake Peak. After his recuperation from the initial effects of a Traumatic Brain Injury, facial paralysis, multiple facial and other fractures, Darren has returned to back country skiing and spending time on the slopes with his daughters.
