Ashleigh was injured while competing in a race when she was struck by a car attempting to cross the course during the cycling portion of the event. The collision resulted in a severe spinal cord injury, leaving her completely paralyzed, as well as a head injury. Since the accident, Ashleigh has been focused on her recovery and adapting to life with her injuries.
