Ben Hulin
IN SEPTEMBER 24, 2006, BEN WAS INJURED IN A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT, WHICH LEFT HIM WITH A T5-T6 COMPLETE SPINAL CORD INJURY. BEN SPENT FIVE WEEKS IN INPATIENT THERAPY AND DISCOVERED WHEELCHAIR RACING ABOUT 5 MONTHS AFTER HIS INJURY. HE SOON FOUND THE MOUNTAINS AND THE ABILITY TO SKI AND HAS NOT LOOKED BACK. SKIING WITH HIS FAMILY, WHILE CHALLENGING HIMSELF HAS BEEN A BLESSING TO BEN, AND HE LOOKS TO KEEP GOING STRONG. BEN IS CURRENTLY A TEACHER IN SATL LAKE CITY, UT. HE IS A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND IS ABLE TO TEACH SPORTS AND DIFFERENT SKILLS EVERY DAY. HE HAS EVEN STARTED A SKI PROGRAM THROUGH HIS SCHOOL UP AT SNOWBIRD WHERE STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO GO UP ON HALF DAYS AND EXPERIENCE THE MOUNTAINS AND ARE ABLE TO LEARN THE SPORT OF SKIING. BEN LOVES TO SKI WITH HIS STUDENTS ON THOSE HALF DAYS AND SHOW THEM THAT HE CAN ALWAYS GET OUT AND SKI.
