Beth was rafting the Colorado River and stopped to jump off some rocks. When she jumped off a 45-foot rock, she hit the water wrong. The landing caused a burst fracture of Beth’s T-11 vertebrae causing instant paralysis from the waist down.
Beth’s current recovery goal is to continue to get strong and work on learning to alpine ski again. She wants to experience new activities and learn to do new things. It is so important for her to stay active in sports because it helps to take my mind off of my pain and also feel independent.
