On June 28, 2024, Cade was mountain biking at Trestle Bike Park when he attempted a challenging jump on the “Banana Peel” trail but came up short, causing a severe crash. The impact fractured his T12 vertebra into his spinal cord, resulting in a spinal cord injury. After emergency surgery and some intensive rehabilitation, he regained signiicant leg function, progressing from using a wheelchair to walking with assistance.
