Canaan Floyd
Canaan waas injurd on April 15, 2021, approximately 30 minutes before his 25th birthday, after falling asleep while driving home from night classes following a full day of work as an electrician’s assistant. His vehicle crossed the centerline, overcorrected, left the roadway, entered a ravine, and ejected him from the vehicle; he was not located until approximately 1:00 AM on April 16. The accident resulted in a T11 burst fracture and a severe T10-T12 spinal cord injury, requiring spinal fusion and decompression surgery followed by inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. As a result of his injury, he has complete paralysis from approximately the T10 level down.
