Craig DeMartino
Craig was climbing in CO when he was accidentally dropped 100 feet down the climb he had just lead.HeI hit the ground and exploded his feet and ankles, burst his L2, broke ribs, punctured a lung, and broke his neck at C5. Craig spent 3 months in the hospital where they fused his Lumbar from L1-4, his neck at C5/6 and then sent him home.
After a year, Craig couldn’t climb and he wanted to go back to the mountains. He decided to amputate his right leg, which wasn’t healing well, so he could get his quality life back. Craig was climbing 4 months after the amputation.
