Dodi Blumstein
Dodi was injured during a multi-day hiking trip at sleepaway camp when she hurt her ankle early in the hike but was required to continue for the remaining distance. The prolonged strain led to severe complications, resulting in multiple surgeries and a diagnosis of complex regional pain syndrome. After years of chronic pain and limited mobility, she elected to undergo a below-knee amputation in 2017, ultimately improving her quality of life.
