Ty was injured on March 16, 2025, while riding a dirt bike at a track when he lost control after coming over braking bumps too quickly. He regained consciousness on the track and realized he could not move or feel his legs. The crash resulted in  fractures from T5-T8, and required surgery, leaving him paraplegic and focused on recovery through rehabilitation.

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.”

“This grant will get me back to riding, in some way, will make a positive impact on my life. It's my love and passion and basically my getaway from everyday life. I can't imagine not riding and I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to get back to it!“
