Ellen Duffer

While mountaineering in. the North Cascades, Ellen lost her footing while crossing a drainage and tumbled approximately 200 feet down the slope. the fall resulted in severe bilateral ankle fractures and dislocation, nearly amputating both feet, along with a mild traumatic brain injury. After undergoing extensive limb salvage surgery, she now walks with a cane, experiences chronic pain, and has lasting nerve damage and restricted mobility.
