On July 23, 2023, Gregory was mountain biking with his wife and son at BORCA trail in Beachburg, ON. Gregory’s wife had just headed back to their vehicle, while he and his son went out for one last loop together. Unfortunately, Gregory never made it back to the car. Gregory fell off a small wooden feature along the trail landing on his neck. Having his 7 year old son help him call 911, Gregory was airlifted to the Ottawa Civic Hospital where doctors determined he fractured his neck resulting in a spinal cord injury from C3-T2 vertebrae.
