Jack sustained a C4-C5 incomplete spinal cord injury resulting in quadriplegia while training no-gi jiujitsu in San Diego. With 10 minutes left in his sparring session, jack’s trainer flipped him over during a takedown technique, crunching his neck on the ground.

Jack believes a new Macski surfboard will allow him to pursue his life’s passion for surfing post-injury. As someone who grew up swimming, freediving, and surfing all over the California coast, being in the water is what brings him joy and the grant provided by high fives will assist in getting him back to his happy place, the ocean.
