Jason Moore
Jason was injured while riding at Whistler Bike Park with his son when his handlebar clipped a tree on the D1 trails, sending him headfirst into another tree. The crash fractured his C6 vertebra and a rib, while causing significant damage from C3-C5 that required a laminectomy and spinal fusion from C2-C7. He was diagnose with central cord syndrome and initially required a wheelchair controlled by head movements, but through extensive rehabilitation he progressed from standing after three months to walking after five months and eventually regained his independence.
