Jason’s accident occurred on Thursday, November 11, 2021, on Veteran’s day. He left in the morning to meet three friends to go for a ride on a new trial. He was riding down a hill, and they encountered a highly rocky section of the trail. His friend who he was following went down first and was in the process of riding back up the hill to let the rest of them know not to come down, but Jason was already heading down. Jason vividly remembers every detail of the crash. He did a slow roll over the handlebars and landed straight on the top of his head. He knew upon impact that he had no feeling from his chest down. Jason had severely fractured C6-T1 vertebrae while completely severing his spinal cord.

“It always seems impossible until it's done.”
