While stacking large round bales of hay, Jeffrey was struck by a bale that rolled off the loader, completely shattering his T11 vertebra. The impact caused T10 to shift downward, resulting in the spinal cord folding over iteslf and leading to a complete spinal cord injury, along with six broken ribs and internal bleeding.
