On January 27, 2024 JT was injured in a ski accident hwen another skier fell in front of him. In an effort to avoid the fallen skier, he swerved but lost control on ice, ultimately crashing into a chairlift tower at high speed. As a result, he fractured his T6-T7 vertebrae, separated his right shoulder, and broke several ribs.
