Lindsey fractured her T5 and 6 vertebrae in a mountain biking accident causing paralysis from the waist down. Attempting a 15-foot drop, Lindsey landed slightly forward on bike and hit a rut in the dirt causing her to be thrown over her handlebars. When she arrived at the hospital, Lindsey was told that her spinal cord had been impinged, but fortunately not severed.

At the time of her injury, Lindsey was determined to be a complete spinal cord injury. Through hard work at Journey Forward in Canton, Massachusetts, she have been able to gain back some sensation and motion.

“BALANCE A BIKE RIGHT. KEEP THE PEDALS TURNING. FORGET ABOUT EVERYTHING EXCEPT RIGHT NOW. AND THERE’S NO PLACE YOU CAN’T RIDE.”
