Mark Herbison

While paragliding from Monroe Peak in Utah, Mark encountered intense wind gusts that pushed him off course, causing him to collide with a dead tree and then a vertical rock face. The violent impacts resulted in a severe open wrist fracture, a traumatic ankle injury, and a severed artery and nerve. Airlifted to Utah Valley Hospital, surgeons determined his ankle fracture was among the worst they had seen, ultimately recommending amputation.
