On May 14, 2023, Nicholas was involved in a motorcycle accident when a vehicle made an unexpected left turn in front of him. With no time to react, he collided with the vehicle, causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle. He landed on his back, sustaining a complete spinal cord injury upon impact.
