Stuart Heath
In 2014, at 23 years old, Stuart was mountain biking with a roommate on a forest road outside Ellensburg, WA. While riding through a washed-out section of the trail, he lost control and was thrown over the handlebars, compressing his spine. The accident resulted in a T6 fracture and a T4 incomplete spinal cord injury. Emergency services were contacted, transported Stuart down the trail on a backboard, and stabilized him at Kittitas Valley Hospital before airlifting him to Harborview Medical Center in SEattle for spinal reconstruction surgery and rehabilitation.
