Yasir is a trained paragliding pilot with several years of experience. In the spring of 2024, while flying with a local club at a designated flight site, he experience a glider collapse approximately 20 feet above the ground during his descent into a turbulent landing zone. Yasir was unable to recover in time, resulting in a compound fracture to his T12 vertebra.
