One summer on a break from college, Yvonne decided to go on a solo mountain bike ride at a somewhat familiar trail in Arlington, TX. Looking to take a couple of laps before finding some cool a/c, Yvonne headed back into the woods to find her favorite section of the trail-the EKG. Intent on maintaining momentum through the roller, she didn’t notice a sudden kicker at the bottom of a hill until it was too late. Her back tire caught the feature, causing them to crash hard onto her back, resulting in a fractured T11 vertebrae and spinal cord injury.
