The Boss Josh Dueck

Josh Dueck is High Fives Foundation Athlete of the week!

High Fives Athlete Josh Dueck sustained a spinal cord injury during a ski accident in 2004, leaving him completely paralyzed from the waist down. Josh quickly accepted the fact that life was going to be different, but his injury did not change that part about grabbing life by the horns and sending it. Josh has gone above and beyond expectations, constantly inspiring the masses to celebrate community and hope through his life & actions while having as much fun as possible.

Some recent accomplishments Dueck received include both Silver and Gold medals at the Paralympic Games in Sochi 2014. In 2012, Josh became the first person to perform a backflip on snow in a sit ski, earning him international acclaim and an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Josh will be shredding waves at the High Fives Adaptive Surf Trip this month! The surf trip takes place in Sea Girt, NJ at North Beach fromĀ August 25th through August 29th. The trip acts as both a training ground for our organizations Winter Empowerment Athletes, and also shows these same Athletes that there are accessible summer action sports that also provide the STOKE.

Have fun surfing Josh and keep crushing it on every level.
