The High Fives Foundation is proud to announce and support Conor O’Brian’s fundraising endeavor, the High Country Hurdle, in aid of our Return to Dirt program. Conor, the Marketing Manager at Full Cycle Bikes, is a passionate community builder, philanthropist, and avid cyclist. From June 23-26, he will undertake a grueling four-day, 740-mile ride through the Rocky Mountains as part of the Colorado High Country 1200.
Conor’s journey is driven by a goal to raise $10,000 for Return to Dirt, a High Fives program that helps disabled athletes embark on their own outdoor adventures. With over 20 other riders, Conor will traverse the Rockies, starting and ending in Louisville, Colorado, and spending three nights in the mountain town of Ward. The ride will cover 188 miles with 10,100 feet of elevation on Day 1, 200 miles with 10,500 feet on Day 2, 200 miles with 11,000 feet on Day 3, and 150 miles with 5,000 feet on the final day.
Conor was inspired to support Return to Dirt through stories from his best friend Luke, a dedicated volunteer for the High Fives Foundation. These stories highlighted the transformative impact of our programs, particularly Return to Dirt, which was founded by a friend of Luke’s who became a quadriplegic after a skiing accident at 19.
